POVERTY IN CAMBODIA • 26% OF THE CAMBODIAN POPULATION LIVE BELOW THE POVERTY LINE. • THE AVERAGE DAILY INCOME IS LESS THAN US$2 PER DAY • 85% LIVE IN RURAL AREAS, IN WHICH 90% ARE FARMERSDEPEND ON AGRICULTURE OF PADDY CULTIVATION • POOR FARMERS STRUGGLE WITH SMALL PLOTS OF LAND, GROWING A SINGLE CROP WITH LOW YIELD. • SOME OF THEM NEITHER FARM LAND NOR HAVE LAND AND NO SOURCE OF INCOME.
