  3. Two main keynotes In-service Training of teachers in basic ICT skills (A-Level) In-service training of teachers in the utilization and application of ICTs in the teaching practice (B-Level)

  4. aim • Training of teachers of primary and secondary education in order to acquire basic knowledge and skills in the use of ICT in education.

  6. Duration • 8 weeks • Two days per week • Three hours per day • 48 hours in total • 43 hours at least for certificate of attendance

Where and how it is implemented • The training is implemented to Training Support Centers (TSC) which have the appropriate infrastructure in the required computing, networking and telecommunications equipment. • The TCs choose the trainers from the certified list of trainers; they submit the programs’ plan to Local Training Committee (LTC) and receive from the LTC the educational materials.

  12. Helpdesk • The help desk supports all the users with FAQs, Guide Training Procedures, Electronic ballot, Submission form questions, MIS support, commentary forms e.t.c

  13. Certification • The certification of teachers on the skills and knowledge in ICT is implemented on fully equipped laboratories of Universities. • The trainee must answer correctly at least 60% of the questions for every category.

  14. Subsidy • Every trainee receives 587 Euros. • 293,5 Euros after Education • 293,5 Euros after Certification

Goals • Use of computer network services and digital educational material • Actual utilization of educational software in the educational process for various knowledge domains • Fostering new attitudes towards the learning process • The in-class application of knowledge and skills that are acquired during training

  19. Duration • 16 weeks • Two days per week • Three hours per day • 96 hours in total • 86 hours at least for certificate of attendance

The scope of B-Level In-service training • Understand the  conditions and the potential for the pedagogical utilization of ICTs in education • Efficiently use the potential offered by ICTs with regard to the active participation of teachers and students in learning communities • Acquire an overall view of the existing educational software, the existing generic and specialized tools, as well as the Internet, specific tools and web 2.0 services.

The scope of B-Level In-service training • Be in a position to use a suitable for their specialization educational software package or generic and specific tools • Realize the necessity and the role of educational activities in the application of ICT in the classroom. • Understand the principles of designing an educational activity so that they can incorporate it into the teaching practice.

The scope of B-Level In-service training • Have the ability to efficiently use the classroom interactive whiteboard for the educational process • Acquire knowledge regarding  the basic principles for organizing and managing the use of ICT in the classroom • Develop the skills for communication and collaboration with their students and their peers with the support of Web 2.0 technologies.

  23. Certification The examinations are carried out for the B-Level certification at the Certification Centres, at Universities, for the graduates of the project.

  24. about the training of teacher trainers at the University Training Centres (UTCs) Training of teacher trainers takes place at the University teacher training centres (UTTCs). These UTTCs are Higher Educational Institutions or unions of Higher Educational Institutions that were selected through an open competition, so that all of Greece would be geographically covered.

  25. about the training of teacher trainers at the University Training Centres (UTCs) • Each Teacher Trainer training program has a duration of 350 hours • 160 hours general knowledge and skills • 190 hours concern specialized knowledge and skills to the specific knowledge domain or teaching classification of the trainee. • In general, training covers 15-20 hours per week (for roughly 6 months) and takes place during the evening, after school hours
