  2. Topics and Action Items Publications Sub-Committee: • Aerospace America Year-In-Review article • Web Site - Susan Elrod • Student Competition – Doug Stanley • Launch Guide - Josh Hopkins Treasurer’s Report

  3. Aerospace America Article – Year In Review 2011 My thanks to all who supported last year’s article. Again, this year will be tough – only 600 words allowed. Future trade: more pictures, less text. Comments? Space Transportation Topics Shuttle Flight Operations Constellation Program Current Launch Systems Emerging Launch Systems

  4. Web Site Susan Elrod: We are in the process of transitioning to the new Sharepoint site: https://info.aiaa.org/tac/SMG/STTC/Minutes/Forms/AllItems.aspx The previous site content has been transferred but needs to be updated. http://www.aiaa.org/portal/index.cfm?adview=12&tcspageid=1650&getcomm=92 We particularly need updates to the: Members STTC Charter Subcommittees Officers Student Design Competition TC Member Highlights Calendar and others Please look at other TC websites for desirable content and possible format updates, and provide input back to Carl and Susan (susan.elrod@nasa.gov). “I don't have any updates because nobody has helped provide updates to content for the website. I have access to Sharepoint user manuals that might help the website look fancier, and I may do that when we have updated content. I really need some input, even if they are contacts and a little direction, before I can proceed.!!” - Susan

  6. Student Competition ScheduleNotes: Items in RED are near term tasks. Thanks to all who helped review Proposals, especially Carl who reviewed all 6!!! Also, after 2 years, I (Brian Bjelde) am looking to step down as the point person for the student design competition. 7. RFP for 2010-2011 Competition“Design and analysis of economic benefit of a Propellant Depot” • Submitted to AIAA for evaluation and eventual posting. • Thanks for all of your help in creating and editing this RFP!!

  8. Status of Launch Guide Update • Jon and I have been working, but pretty slowly. • Progress on several chapters, lots of good cost data, working on a detailed Shuttle cost history • The current schedule has been • Chapter data (e.g. launches) would be complete through Dec 2010 • Work on chapters through early spring 2011 • Editing / Printing in Summer 2011 • Publication in time to sell copies at Space 2011 • That schedule is looking pretty iffy given our pace • If the schedule slips it would likely roll by 1 year and keep the same milestone months

  9. Helpful Tasks • Help update the launch logs • I have updated the less active vehicles and Jon is tackling Shuttle • We could use help with Delta, Ariane, Proton, Soyuz • Review NASA and ESA photo galleries to find good pictures • We can easily get the rights to use these photos, and they often show LV’s being assembled, which are more interesting • http://mediaarchive.ksc.nasa.gov/search.cfm • http://www.esa.int/esa-mmg/mmg.pl?type=I • http://jda.jaxa.jp/jda/p1_e.php

  10. Helpful Tasks • We could use a Russian speaker to read Russian-language media • NovostiKosmonavtiki (www.novosti-kosmonavtiki.ru) • www.spacenews.ru • www.federalspace.ru • Especially looking for information on more obscure rockets like Kosmos, Cyclone, Angara, and Start rockets. • Anyone who wants to tackle a whole chapter • New • S. Korean KSLV or N. Korean Taepo Dong • Taurus II • Safir (Iran) • Major updates • Soyuz , Falcon, Delta, • Write a better history of Atlas • Lots of good historical data is available

  11. Account Status • AIAA Headquarters General Ledger (as of 7/9/2010) : • Acct: 3250 (Discretionary account) $ 8,119.06 • Pending check to Miroslov Sir for Colorado Springs refreshments $ 36.87
