  1. This is a presentation introducing UH’s Bauer College of Business Ph.D. programs. Our message: Yes, YOU might become a university professor.We have six programs to choose from.

  2. You’ll need an interest in academic researchand the ability to live on 30-$34,000 annually for 4-5 years while you’re completing your doctorate • Academic research is what we do. If you have no idea what it’s like, ask a professor in your field what journals you might look at.

  3. But you don’t need an MBA. • So even someone in the first semester of our MBA program should consider whether you have an interest in the Ph.D. program. • We have more information at www.bauer.uh.edu/phd

  4. And your payoff is a flexible, rewarding career • We on the Bauer College faculty think this is terrific profession, but then again, we picked it…..

  5. Starting salaries reach six figures because supply doesn’t meet demand. Why is the supply low? Simply because many graduate students in MBA programs are short-term economic decision-makers. • In plain language, there is a shortage of people with a Ph.D. in most fields of business.

  6. Interested? Or do you know anyone else who might be?
