  3. Know the types of writing Descriptive • Retell • Allows reader to visualize and understand the context • Sets the scene for assessors

  4. Know the types of writing Analysis • Interpretations you make of what happened • examination of why the elements or events described are the way they are • Show the assessors the thought processes you employed to arrive at the conclusions made about a teaching situation.

  5. Know the types of writing Reflective • suggests self- analysis, or consideration of practice. • includes written consideration of what a teacher will do next time—based on his/her analysis of what happened and why it happened that way. • What influence will ___ have on future instruction?

  6. Remember The only information available to assessors is what you provide them in your portfolio. • Your written commentary • Video recording • Student work samples • Instructional Materials What is your entry saying about you?

  7. Lookat your rubrics… • Go to your certificate area • Scroll to bottom of page • Look for Scoring Guide “Understanding and applying the scoring criteria” • Part 2 has descriptors for a Level 4. Read these carefully. Have you addressed each clearly?

  8. For Next Month… • Print Level 4 descriptors of rubrics • Refine Entry 4 • Keep video-taping • Gather student work
