ROMANCE SCAM: A fraud known as online romance fraud involves offenders creating a false, frequently compelling, and detailed online persona that includes a fake name, location, photograph, career, and other details. Here, the con artist joins a dating site or social networking platform with the fake persona they've made, occasionally attempting to steal cryptocurrencies from an unwary victim. Their one robbery can sometimes be the equivalent of a victim's entire life savings.
