  9. Health Care Updates – Federal • There have been multiple attacks to repeal the ACA but none have been successful • Nothing about your health care has changed • Kids coverage through CHIP is at risk

  10. Health Care Updates – California • Health4All Kids – Medi-Cal is available to ALL low-income children, regardless of immigration status. Eligible children will receive full-scope benefits & dental coverage. • Medi-Cal – You can enroll any time of the year. • Covered California – Federal subsidies and financial assistance protected by law. • CA leadership spearheading and protecting our health programs

Open Enrollment Period is NOW! • Open Enrollment for coverage through Covered California is from November 1, 2017 through January 31, 2018 Must enroll by December 15, 2017 to have coverage by January 1, 2018 • How to enroll? Online at www.coveredca.com By phone 1-800-300-1506 By mail using the Single Streamlined Application • Reminder: For Medi-Cal you can enroll any time of the year

  12. Health Coverage Options for Immigrant Families • Medi-Cal: No cost or low-cost health program for low-income folks. Based on income, the following immigrant populations may also qualify: Newly Qualified Immigrants – Legal permanent residents for <5 years, people granted parole for >one year, & qualified battered immigrants. Permanent Resident Under Color of Law (PRUCOL) Adults

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Recipients Medi-Cal covers ALL children (SB75), age 0-19, regardless of a child’s immigration status. You can enroll in Medi-Cal year-round – Health4All Kids! • Local Community Health Centers
