  1. ABM NZ Channel Partner Conference 2013 ABM WikiOverview

  2. ABM Wiki - Overview • New method of delivering content • Initially to Channel Partners • Eventually to End Users • Built on Atlassian Confluence and Integrated to JIRA • More interactive, promoting 2-way communication by allowing comments

  3. Content Development • Initial content copied and updated from existing sources including: • Marketing Material – Brochures, Videos, Data Sheets • Support Bulletins • Useful Support Information • Dynamic Content from JIRA

  4. Content Development • Articles published by ABM Distributor support based on discussions with Channel that may be interesting to the wider group • Content created by YOU! • FAQs • How To Guides • Tips and Tricks • Solutions

  5. What Are We Trying To Achieve? Single access point to information Richer, more relevant content to the channel Better tools for finding the content Shared content development Interactive discussion

  6. Why Should You Contribute Content? The more everyone contributes the better the Channel operates and the happier overall the ABM user community will be. If you use the content others provide to save yourself time and effort, it makes sense to reciprocate when you have the opportunity. ABM and the distributors can’t do it all.

  7. Confidentiality • It’s a public forum, so don’t say anything you wouldn’t say in a crowded room of other dealers. • Client details should be avoided

  8. Intellectual Property • Anything contributed becomes public domain • Don’t put up anything you think is commercially sensitive or valuable • Descriptions of how to do something – YES • User guides that you sell or licence – NO • There is a fair expectation that if you copy someone’s work, you should attribute the work to the original author • Not doing so could see you getting the “Manky Mutt” award

  9. A Manky Mutt

  12. Let’s Take a Look https://abmissues.jira.com/wiki/

  13. Blogging To create a blog post, use the “Create” button at the top… And select

  14. Articles (Pages) Create a new page Consider layout as well as content Use a template Add labels

  15. Macros • Macros are quick ways of adding content as well as other layout elements • Dynamic Lists - {content by label}, {content by user}, {table of contents} • Sections – a horizontal section {section} • Columns – a vertical section {column} • Links to other pages – Use [ ] • Files – {office excel}, {office word}. {pdf}, {multimedia}

  16. Macros Once a macro has been created, property sheets are available:

  17. Links • Linking to other pages is as simple as typing “[“ and the name of the page. • Automatic suggestions are displayed as you type • “Dead” links can be created for pages you intend to fill in later • Just click on a dead link to automatically create the new page

  18. Labels • Labels are critical for properly organising content • They are used in dynamic lists, such as those on the Support Material Page • Why? • Because if you use labels properly you don’t have to remember to add links towards your new page.

  19. Proper Way to Use Content By Label https://abmissues.jira.com/wiki/display/ABM/Marketing+Material The top list has to have every individual page added (not necessarily optimal) The bottom list uses a single label to find every relevant page.

  20. Other Dynamic Content • JIRA issues using filters – {filter results} • Using saved filters • Normal issue security applies

  21. Comments Comments can be added at the bottom of any page or blog post. Feel free to have conversations

  22. End User Version? Eventually, probably. Not soon. Will be in a different space Will be far more rigorously controlled

  23. What Now? We need you to contribute content We need suggestions for more content
