Polarization and Strain Measurements for BaTiO 3

Polarization and Strain Measurements for BaTiO 3. 1.0 kV/mm. Sample was cycled at 0.25 kV/mm increments (from 0.25kV-2.0kV) on a triangle wave at 1Hz The coercive field of the 2.0 kV/mm loop is about 0.1 kV/mm, this value is comparable to the Jaffe of 0.3 kV/mm (<1 kV/mm)

  1. Polarization and Strain Measurements for BaTiO3 1.0 kV/mm • Sample was cycled at 0.25 kV/mm increments (from 0.25kV-2.0kV) on a triangle wave at 1Hz • The coercive field of the 2.0 kV/mm loop is about 0.1 kV/mm, this value is comparable to the Jaffe of 0.3 kV/mm (<1 kV/mm) • There is a difference in the remnant polarization, The sample produced in our lab had a Prof 6.17 uC/cm2 compared to about 8 uC/cm2 • Strain data show typical butterfly loops Strain (%) Polarization uC/cm2 Electric Field kV/mm Electric Field kV/mm 1.5 kV/mm Strain (%) Polarization uC/cm2 Electric Field kV/mm Electric Field kV/mm 2.0 kV/mm Strain (%) Polarization uC/cm2 Electric Field kV/mm Electric Field kV/mm “Piezoelectric Ceramics” Jaffe, 1993.
