  4. Cuba and Haiti • Cuba has been communist since 1959 • Many refugees come to America from Haiti and Cuba • Port-au-Prince is the center of industry for Haiti

  5. Country Facts • Costa Rica is nicknamed the “Land of Democracy” because of a long history of a stable democratic government • Puerto Rico has the most developed economy in the Caribbean • The rain forests of Honduras and Belize produce large amounts of timber
