Geometry Main Concepts • Geometry Content Standards: • Inductive/Deductive reasoning • Geometric Proofs • Logic arguments/counterexamples • Congruence and similarity • Triangle inequality theorem • Parallel lines • Perimeter, circumference, area of geometric figures • Volume/surface area of prisms' • Angle measurement/relationships • Pythagorean theorem • Basic constructions with compass • Proofs with coordinate geometry • Basic Trig functions/proofs • Circle relationships

Homework/Web site • Homework: Graded daily and turned in every day. • My school Web page: Your student must go to my web site and print the pacing schedule for each chapter. • Online Grades: Make sure you can access your students grades online. I update them every Friday(None so far). • Make-ups: Test and quizzes-taken within 2 days of the students return to class Homework-one day for each days absence. • Books and calculators:

  6. Grading Scale: • Your points/Total points=Your grade. • Tests(100pts) Quizzes(30 pts) Homework(4 pts) Classwork(4pts) • Final/Midterm(170pts) A=90-100%, B=80-89%, C=70-79%, D=60-69%

  7. What Parents should do to assist their Students. • Get your student a planner/organization system. • Verify they have finished their homework. • Encourage your student to find a study buddy. • Talk with your students about what to do when the get stuck.
