  5. Observation. • Focus. • Use solid line. • Draw slowly. • One line and no erasing (blind). • Timed. Blind Contour– Steps to Success.

  6. Only look at the object you are drawing (expect distortion). • Draw as many edges and details as possible. • Use one continuous line; “take a walk with a line” around the object never lifting your pencil. • Focus on observation. Blind Contour Demonstration #1 Blind Contour Drawing

  7. Complete 4 blind contour drawings of you hand. DO NOT look at your paper. Draw large. TAKE YOUR TIME; 3 minutes per drawing. Drawing Period #1

  8. Rest of Class: Complete at least 1 modified contour drawing (half the back) of your SHOE or your BACKPACK. THE OBJECT MUST BE ON THE TABLE. These drawings should FILL THE PAGE, and include as much DETAIL AS POSSIBLE, without any shading or hatching. ONLY EDGES. Finish the drawing by tracing your lines with Sharpie. Final Copy
