  2. Biografija • Rođen u Beču 14. ožujka 1804 . a umro 25. rujna 1849. • Bio je austrijski je skladatelj i dirigent • Otac Johanna mlađeg,Josefa i Eduarda • Stekao nadimak “otac valcera”

  3. Postignuća i uspjesi • R. Wagner nazvao ga je "demonom bečkoga glazbenog duha" i "čarobnim vođom orkestra“ • Od 1835. dirigent plesnih priredbi na bečkom dvoru • 1819. postao član kvarteta J. Lannera, poslije njegov pomoćni dirigent • Od 1826. vodio vlastiti plesni orkestar s kojim je uspješno nastupao u nizu

  4. Njegova djela • Uz 150-ak valcera, skladao četvorke (34), galope (29), polke (14), koračnice (16)

  5. Johan Strauss mlađi • Sin Johana Strauss starijeg • Najveći Bečki kompozitor lagane muzike • Njegova muzika je obuhvaćala vrhunac elegancije i profinjenosti • Bio je poznat po svojim valcerima i operetama
