Biomedical Engineers ... • Work with other health care professionals: • Physicians, nurses, therapists and technicians • Work in: • Hospital settings • Medical device companies • Academic institutions • Government organizations (FDA, NIH) • Design instruments, devices, and software to to develop new procedures • Conduct research needed to solve clinical problems

The United States Department of Labor reports that “the number of biomedical engineering jobs will increase by 31.4 percent through 2010.” “This is double the rate for all other jobs combined.” Many students also go to graduate school, medical school, or law school following graduation The Future of the Profession

The program is about 1 year old We have 21 official students with some unofficial students Theory and Practice The program is growing very quickly We are seeking partners for internships, research and senior projects We have hired two new faculty LTU has a strong life sciences group BME at LTU is Exciting!
