  2. What are landforms? Landforms are natural shapes on the Earth surface. They are created by natural elements such as: wind, water, ice, the movement of the earth's tectonic plates ... Some landforms are created in a matter of hours, while others take millions of years to form.

  3. There are many types of landforms around the world such as , mountains, hills, valleys, rivers, glaciers, lakes, plains…

  4. What is a plain?

  5. Plain A plain is a flat area on Earth’s surface.

  6. What is a plateau?

  7. Plateau A plateau is a flat area higher than the land around it.

  8. Whatis a hill?

  9. Hill A hill is a small elevation on the Earth's surface. (Hills have rounded tops and are smaller than mountains).

  10. What is a mountain?

  11. Mountain A mountain is a place on Earth’s surface that is much higher than the land around it. (Mountains usually have pointed tops and are higher than hills).

  12. What is a valley?

  13. Valley A valley is a lowland area between mountains.

  14. Whatis a peninsula?

  15. Peninsula A peninsula is a body of land that is surrounded by water on three sides

  16. An example of a peninsula is the Iberian Peninsula. Another example: a Península do Morrazo.

  18. Island An island is land that is completely surrounded by water

  27. Cliff A cliff is a very steep wall of rock along coasts or rivers.

  28. What is a lake?

  29. Lake A lake is a body of water surrounded by land.

  30. What is a river?

  31. River A river is a stream of flowing water that empties into a sea, a lake or another river.
