Diploma of Children's Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) The qualification enables children's services workers tooperate at a qualified level in early childhood education andcare, and graded assessment will assist with entry into earlychildhood degree courses. The qualification relates toworkers in children's services who are responsible forplanning, implementing and managing programs in earlychildhood services, in accordance with licensing, accreditation and duty of care requirements. At this level workers have responsibility for supervision ofother staff and volunteers. Certificate III in Aged Care This qualification provides knowledge and skills to carry out activities to maintain care and other activities of living for people in an aged care setting, and carry out activities related to an individualized plan. Certificate III in IT - General This course is for students with little or no IT background, who want to develop the necessary introductory skills to other higher level award courses in IT studies. Course length: 26 weeks Certificate IV in IT - Networking The Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking) develops skills and knowledge in the installation and management of simple networks and provides for an individual to be effective in network management either as an independent ICT Specialist or as part of a team.  Course length: 52 weeks (Certificate III in IT is a prerequisite)

Diploma of Information Technology (Networking) Diploma of Information Technology (Networking) provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in high level network management and engineering. Course length: 78 weeks (Certificate IV in IT (Networking) is a prerequisite) Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Network Security) Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Network Security) provides skills and knowledge in planning, technical design, implementation and management of complex and high-level network security and components.   28. Statutory Requirements • Primary requirements • 1. Attendance • Must have satisfactory class participation to pass the subject. • Currently it is 80% • Student are not allowed to work during class hours 2. Satisfactory Academic Progress • Must pass each subject on your first attempt 3. Payment of fees • Must be paid prior to start of the term • Zero (0) attendance as name will not appear in the class roll • Results not available • Certificate/Diploma not available

AICL Course Progress Policy & Procedure • AICL monitors, records and assesses the course progress of each student for the course in which the student is currently enrolled.  • AICL assesses each student's progress at the end of each compulsory study period. Ten weeks is defined as one term at AICL.  • At AICL, unsatisfactory progress is defined as not successfully completing or demonstrating competency in at least 50% of the modules/subjects attempted in a 10 week study period.  

  30. AICL Course Progress Policy & Procedure • Student must have attended 80 % of the class in order to pass the subject. • Student must pass 50% of total subjects they have enrolled for the particular 9 or 10 week term

  31. Intervention Strategy • AICL identifies and assists students who are at risk of not making satisfactory course progress. AICL contacts and counsels the identified students. AICL will then assist the identified student to achieve satisfactory course progress by • reassessing on the failed subjects • providing additional support such as putting those students on tutorial/ study group, providing assistance with personal issues which are influencing the progress, academic skills support, additional English support • placing the student in a suitable alternative subject within the course or suggest the student with suitable alternative course. • placing in more appropriate class • increased monitoring of the student

Academic Rules • Subject Exemptions • Students can apply for exemptions based on previous study • If granted this will shorten the length of their course • Should apply prior to course starting • Otherwise apply for exemptions as soon as possible • There is a fee associated with the processing of an exemption ($100 application fee) • Exemption forms are available from Student Services • Also known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) • Please note overseas student must apply RPL once their • qualification is certified by National Office of Overseas Skills • Recognition (NOOSR ). NOOSR compares overseas qualifications • with AQF levels

  38. ATTENDANCE • Attendance is tracked per week, per term and overall • You must attend overall 80% in each term • As per student visa requirement , you must study 20 hours per week. • You will be doing 15 hours face to face learning and 5 hours of distance/online learning.

New Term Changes • No change of session permitted after census date • End of Term : Student is automatically registered for next class • Any questions/changes should be made in week 1 of each term • Attendance for last term is checked • Academic performance is checked • Financial status is checked • If non-financial, then not placed in subject • If not in a subject then no attendance is given • Warning letter Consultation with VET Coordinator within 10 working days . No improvement -> may be reported to DIAC

  43. Emergency Evacuation Procedure • During the event of an emergency that requires the evacuation of the campus, all students should follow the instruction of their trainer and the fire safety warden. • Once students have evacuated the building they should meet at Bijou lane so that the class rolls can be checked to ensure that all students have left the building. • Only after the rolls have been checked can students be dismissed. • Emergency exits are signposted and there are diagrams located in classrooms, hallways and other areas.

  44. What to do ? • When alarm is raised, gather your things and get ready to evacuate. • Wait for the signal by the floor warden (with red or yellow hardhats) to evacuate. • When signal is given, follow your teachers to assembly area using the fire stairs shown in green. • Wait in the assembly area for further instructions. Do NOT leave the assembly area until told to do so. • A roll call will be done to account for everyone.
