  2. History • Started in Stanford in 1969 for history students • Adopted by AVID: focusing on science Possibly by this guy…but doubtful. Random Stanford History Professor

  3. Organization • Numbered pages: prevents “page scavenging” for other classes • Table of contents • AVID “proof” all in one • All labs, homework, c-notes are held in book (glued in if need be: “dot to dot, not a lot”) • Left side = student content • Right side = instructor content

  4. Reviewing • Easy access to information • Don’t have to randomly fumble for notes • All equations in one location • Especially good for semester and AP test

  5. Transparency • Parents can easily see what is being taught • Homework grades can be viewed on the fly • Extra credit: once a week parent(s) can be taught one thing by their kid and document “What are you teaching my baby?!”

  6. Grading • Emphasis on peer review • Quick spot-grading with stamp • vistaprint.com: “free stamp”

  7. Your Name Physics Four drawings: 1 representing the subject; 3 representing you. The drawings should include at least 4 colors. period
