  2. Introduction • Animals are a huge part of our everyday life. We could not live without them. Do you know what different habitats different animals live in? By the end of this quest you will know more about your favorite animal, and the habitats they come from.

  3. Task Worksheet • Each student will pick their favorite animal. • They will research that animal and fill out the worksheet for their animal. • Next they will move to the habitats. They will learn about 5 different habitats that are on Earth. • Ocean, Desert, Grassland, Rainforest, and Tundra • They will then fill out the habitat worksheets

  4. Process -- Animals • 3. Animals 1 • Animals 2 • 4. Finish filling out the Animal Facts worksheet • Students should choose their favorite animal and begin filling out the Animal Facts worksheet. • Go to both of these websites and find out all the information for your animal

  5. Process – Habitat 1 Now begin the Habitat part of the worksheet 1. Ocean Habitat Go to this website: Ocean Habitat Fill out as much of the ocean habitat questions as you can from this website. Next go to this website, pick ocean and answer the last question on ocean habitats: National Geographic 2. Desert Habitat: Go to this website first : Desert Habitat Fill out as much of the desert habitat questions as you can based off this website. Next go back to the national geographic website and answer the last question: National Geographic

  9. Conclusion • Knowing about different habitats and animals is very important. When we know why and how habitats are different we can work on helping out the environment. Having the students pick an animal and research that animal then the habitats makes the task more personal and interesting. This WebQuest works best for students in grades 2 or 3. Through this activity students will be meeting science standards for PA. • Objectives, The students will be able to: Tell the difference between habitats Tell in which habitats specific animals live Be able to locate information about their animal on the Internet, using more than one source Be able to organize the information gathered on the internet, in document provided Develop understanding of how to link websites through the internet
