  1. Annie’s School Year Parent Conferences Fall 2011

  2. The Seven Habits • The 7 habits help me be more successful as a person. • My favorite habit is “Be Proactive” because it has taught me to take responsibility for my own life. • For example, instead of getting mad because YOU didn’t sign my agenda, I take responsibility to make sure I have my agenda signed before I get on the bus. I don’t blame you. • I am proactive by making sure I have all of my homework in my backpack before I leave the classroom. • I realize that it is my job to be successful and that I can’t blame anyone else.

  3. My Goals • This year I set personal and academic goals. I learned goals are important so that I know what I want, and so that I can create a plan to accomplish it.

  4. My Personal Goal • I want to make the Demo Jump Rope Team • Things I have to do to make my goal: • Practice every day • Be prepared for clinics • Keep trying even if it is hard

  5. Academic Goal • I want to get 100% on three spelling tests in a row. • Things I can do to make this goal: • Study my words each night • Do my spelling homework • Use Spelling City • Keep trying even if it is hard

  6. Spelling • Here are my grades so far in spelling. • Boom Town: 65% • I forgot to study and didn’t do my homework • What About Me: 79% • I did do all my homework, but I didn’t really study. • Alexander: 95% • I studied AND did my homework! • If I Made a Million: 100% • I studied AND did my homework! • My Rows and Piles of Coins: 74% • I didn’t put first things first this week…

  7. Reading • Check out my bar graph to see my reading test scores.

  8. Math • We had our first math post test on estimating, addition, and subtraction I got an 85%. I am proud of my score because my pretest was only a 45% and I studied hard.

  9. Behavior • I have had 3 behavior marks in 4 weeks. • I had one behavior mark for not following directions quickly. I was reading my book instead of listening to Mrs. Richardson. • I had two behavior marks because I forgot to get my agenda signed, and I also forgot my spelling homework. • Next time, I want to have 0 behavior marks, so that I can do a sharpen the saw activity!

  10. I want to learn… • I really want to learn about volcanoes. I think they are pretty, but I don’t really understand what makes them explode. I hope that we do a science unit on volcanoes.

  11. Improvements • I really want to improve my spelling test scores. • I also want to earn the chance to participate in the Sharpen the Saw activities next week. • Last week I didn’t get to because I had two behavior marks. I had behavior marks because I didn’t do my homework and because I didn’t follow directions quickly.
