  3. #1 Soc. 162 – Human Rights(online) • Course Objectives: • To become more knowledgeable about the issue of global human rights. • To become more knowledgeable concerning the major human rights violations across the globe including the United States.

  4. #1 Soc. 162 – Human Rights(online) • Examples of Topics: • Poverty • Social Rights/Cultural Conflicts • Medical Perspective on Human Rights • Pollution/ Environmental Issues • Housing and other basic resources necessary for human survival

  5. #2 Soc. 163 – Women & Children’s Rights (Online) • Course Overview: An exploration of contemporary human rights issues with a focus on women and children, as they are encountered at the local, national, and global level.

  6. #2 Soc. 163 – Women & Children’s Rights (Online) • Examples of Topics: • women's rights in prison/teens in prison • healthcare access • child labor • children at war • spousal abuse/sexual assault • women’s rights: birth control • women’s rights: HIV/AIDS

  7. #3 Soc. 199 – Human Trafficking(WEC 1 Unit) • Course Overview: The purpose of this course is to provide the student with a comprehensive understanding of global human trafficking. In addition, the causes and consequences of human trafficking as well as means of reducing this human rights issue will be examined.
