  2. As we know, for the initial alignment the HPD volume “may” have to move wrt to the rails. The HPD Chariot mechanics allows +\- 5mm in both the horizontal & the vertical as represented in Slide 2 of this presentation. • This isn’t a new request (note: the Upper HPD installation utilised all of this contingency). • The requirement for clearance beyond this is subjective, I suggest itro ≥5mm. • The 3 red arrows indicate some regions that do not allow for the worst case addition of tolerances wrt to other modules (namely to centre HPDs to the PF). There may be others that we have not seen at Imperial. • The 2 blue arrows indicate two regions that we believe ate not a problem & are representative of obsolete locking mechanics. Can we ask for confirmation of this point please?
