  2. Apogee The point in an orbit when a planet or satellite is farthest away from the Earth. The satellite reached an apogee of 521 km from the Earth.

  3. Geocentric Having to do with the center of the Earth in measurement or observation In ancient Greece, Aristotle invented the geocentric planetary model which displayed the planets revolving around the Earth.

  4. Perigee The point in its orbit when a planet or satellite is nearest to the Earth The astronaut located the perigee of the planets in the orbit to radio the information to the analysts.

  5. Inter To bury or put in a grave The funeral lead a procession through the weeded cemetery, making its way to the interred body.

  6. Terra Cotta Ceramic clay used in pottery, statuary, and construction; referring to color of clay During the Qin Dynasty, Shihuangdi, the first emperor, had over 8,000 terra cotta soldier made to accompany him into the afterlife.

  14. Repast: A meal; food served at a meal. In China, Egypt, India , and Indonesia a typical repast includes some form of maize, a plant native to America and introduced to other parts of the world after the arrival of Columbus.

  15. Rustic: adj. Typical of country life and people; simple; rough. n. A rural person.. Settlers on the Midwest prairie often had to live in rustic sod huts until they could import timber to build houses.

  16. Rusticate v. To go to the country. Many New Yorkers like to rusticate in the Adirondacks during the summer.
