  1. RCS Elementary Boundaries Committee October 2002 – November 2003

  2. October 2002 The Elementary Boundaries Committee receives its charge from Dr. Amick.

  3. November 2002 The committee begins its analysis of elementary student demographics. '01 '02 '00

  4. December 2002 The committee begins to work with school district maps.

  5. January 2003 A sub-committee is formed to draw new boundaries and maps for public input.

  6. February 2003 Broader community input is sought via FAQ, a web site link, a Power Point and a guest editorial.

  7. March 2003 The committee continues to collect public input via three remaining public forums.

  8. April 2003 The School Board chooses Scenario #1 for committee reflection.

  9. May 2003 The committee meets to discuss and evaluate Scenario #1.

  10. June 2003 A building capacity issue rises again. It is decided to establish a sub-committee to look at student capacity at each school.

  11. July 2003 School building floor plans are updated, and revised capacity figures are presented to the committee.

  12. August 2003 Co-Conveners present committee reflections on Scenario #1 to the School Board.

  13. October 2003 A proposal for a three-year open enrollment scenario is shared.

  14. November 2003 Committee reflections and community responses are collected at an open committee meeting.
