  3. What is scrip? scrip1 /skrip/ Noun 1. a provisional certificate of money subscribed to a bank or company, entitling the holder to a formal certificate and dividends. (Gift Cards)

  4. How does it work? • Retailers sell gift cards to Great Lakes Scrip Center (GLSC) at a discount • Families buy the gift cards at full face value and redeem for full face value for everyday purchases • Your student gets the difference as revenue for the NYC trip

  5. How much can we earn? FOR example… Food: $ 400/month Gas: $ 100/month Clothing: $ 50/month Dining Out: $ 50/month Total: $ 600/month X 5% (average)~ vendor percentages vary ~ revenue earned per month = $30.

  6. What happens to the revenue? Revenue earned for students will be collected in the MAAK account and subtracted from the next deposit due. Example: Trip deposit due $200 - Scrip Earnings $50 = Pay only $150 for your deposit

  7. How many participating retailers? There are over 400 participating retailers and a wide variety of categories to choose from: Clothing > Macys, JC Penny, Target, LL Bean, Kohls, Dicks Sporting Goods, GAP… Dining > Bob Evans, Hard Rock Café, Panera Bread, Dominos Pizza, Chipotle, PF Changs… Electronics & Office > GameStop, Amazon, Staples, Overstock.com, i-Tunes… Entertainment > Cinemark & Regal Cinemas, Build-a-Bear, Six Flags, Dave & Busters Home Improvements > Home Depot, Lowes, Bed-Bath & Beyond, Sears…

  12. With our organiz • Once registered, cl • W • With Presto Pay a small convenience fee of $ 0.15 will apply to each order, regardless of how many gift cards within that order. Order total Example: 3 cards = $0.15 / 20 cards = $0.15 / 75 cards = $0.15

  13. First Order Due Date Monday, September 8th

  14. Order process: • Place your order online at shopwithscrip.com by 9am on the due date • Orders are held in a “que” and will be processed by Noon on the due date by our program coordinator, Aimee Wasinski • Cards should be ready for pick up from Mrs. Green on Friday of the SAME WEEK

  15. Order process: • Students can pick up your family order from Mrs. Green by signing for them • Next order date to be determined. Organization is charged an $8 handling fee for each order placed by our group, so the larger the order the better
