  1. Hoover Mathematics Tournament The math tournament was held at Hoover High school on Saturday March 7, 2009. The following students competed for the Geometry team: Garris Bugg, Eden Cote, Walker Edmondson, Hunter Huie, Rebekah Gilmore, Liz Hopewell, Caitie Manes, Andrew Metzler, Walker Musso Andrew NeSmith, Taylor Oden, Toby Peoples Brandi Silvey, Sarah Sullivan, Heather Wilkerson Garris Bugg, Andrew Metzler, Catie Manes, and Taylor Oden made the top 40 with their individual scores. This was out of 116 students. The team scored 10 points in ciphering. This means our student answered a question in the first minute that it was asked (two questions at 5 points each). Our team was 7th out of 16 schools in Geometry. I was very proud of these students. Most schools have a math team period. We do not have a math team period at Oneonta, so we really did very well considering the circumstances.
