Strategyfor Ensuing Rabi 2012-13 • Optimum utilization of resources • Ensuring timely supply of quality inputs • Soil health Management & Integrated Nutrient Management • Carry out a campaign for seed treatment • Promoting resistant varieties of wheat, gram and other crops • Proper line sowing of crops will be promoted • Diversification from high water requiring wheat crop to less water requiring crops like pulses and oilseeds • Seed Replacement Rate • Efficient water management • Integrated Pest – Disease management • Intensive Extension (Transfer of Technology) • Targeting resources towards SC/ST/Small/Marginal /Women and BPL farmers

  10. SeedEnhanced Production &Distribution • Increased Certified Seed Distribution – Rabi • Minikit distribution programme to encourage seed production for self-use. • Quality control measures to be enforced strictly – special campaign before sowing season.

  11. Seed Arrangements: Rabi in lac Qtls. Further arrangement of gram seed is to made through NSC , SFCI & other seed agencies

Fertilizer Arrangements :Rabi Consumption : in lac M.T. • Interventions needed from MOA, GOI • Timely supply of DAP, NPK, other complex fertilizers and urea according to allotment • Increase in rake points for uniform supply of fertilizers (Jaiselmer, Bheenmal & Ratlam) • Adequate and timely availability of rail wagons for transportation of fertilizers • LFS (M/s CFCL) should maintain buffer stock of 50,000 MT of Urea

Strategyfor Ensuing Summer 2013 • The area sown (in ha) during summer 2012 and expected sowing area during summer 2013 is as under: • Crop 2012 2013 (Target) • Bajra 33108 34000 • Moong 9006 9500 • Groundnut 3458 500 • Onion 27019 27500 • Green fodder is also sown in summer in some pockets of irrigated area • Availability of certified /quality seed would be ensured through RSSC and other seed agencies • Seed production programme of moong would be organized by RSSC • Other inputs availability would also ensured as per requirement

Annual Credit Plan 2012-13 Rs.in Crores *Progress upto 22.9. 2012 (Anticipated) NABARD has projected credit flow of Rs. 36469.00 Cr. under agriculture sector for 2012-13 Kisan Credit Card – 75.40 lacs KCCs have been issued upto June 2012. During “Kharif Abhiyan 2012” 14745 total number of applications received

Rabi Abhiyan2012-131st Oct. to 20th Oct.2012 • 9175 camps will be organized at GP HQ level • Expected farmers participation- Approx. 6.00 lacs • Availability of seeds through Beej Raths, fertilizer through cooperatives network • Convergence of Agri. services (Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/ SAUs, Cooperatives) at the door step of farmers • Dissemination of appropriate technology & practices for Rabi crops • Free distribution of booklets, pamphlets and minikits • Distribution of mineral mixer packets and de-worming medicines • Collection of Soil Samples and supply of gypsum etc.

  17. Initiatives • Additional promotional assistance on drip up to 40 percent • Assistance on water storage Diggies in canal command area to promote pressurized irrigation. • 3. Convergence of diggies programme with MNREGA • 4. Additional assistance for new electric connection seekers up to 20 percent for MI sets to divert them for pressurized irrigation. • 5. Pressurized irrigation made mandatory for whole Narmada Command area. The same policy is also trying to extend in lift canals of IGNP. • 6. Solar pump project compulsorily linked with drip irrigation technique. • Fertigation project has been initiated in the state to get the synergetic benefit of drip irrigation system. • 8. Promotion of green houses/ poly houses, shading nets and low tunnels where drip irrigation system is a pre requisite.

  18. Initiatives 9. Recognition of progressive farmers at Block, District & State levels with the awards of Rs. 10000, 25000 & 50000 respectively with citation Date palm in 493 ha. & pomegranate plantation programme in 551 ha.

  19. Initiatives • Pilot project on Olive Cultivation- • Plantation in 182 ha. on 7 Government farms. Flowering occurred on 5 sites and fruiting on 2 farms (Barore-Ganganagar, Bakalia-Nagaour). • High tech Bassi farm – • Protective cultivation of vegetables – capsicum, tomatoes, cucumbers, roses, gerbera, gladiolus and open cultivation of strawberry and fruit orchards (Guava, mango, jackfruit, pomegranate)

  20. Issues • Positioning of urea for Rabi 2012-13 as per month wise requirement. • Release of balance fund under RKVY where in UC have been sent • Ensuring the availability of certified seed of gram through NSC, SFCI • Relaxation of age limit to beyond 10 years for distribution of certified / TL seed under MMA and RKVY with differential subsidy as provided under NFSM • Automation and fertigation should be the integral part of NMMI (subsidy on liquid fertilizers). • Ceiling of area (5 ha) may also be exempted under NMMI. • New crops like strawberry should be included for assistance under NHM • A technical support unit may be establish in MOA to design crop product for weather based crop insurance • A post of Acturial may be created in MOA to examine and determine the premium, claim and crop product offered by insurance company • All the automated weather station should be under national umbrella of IMD Thanks
