  1. Theology of the Body A study of God and the purpose of our existence, as discovered and revealed through our bodies.

  2. When you hear about “the Catholic Church’s teaching on sexuality,” what comes to mind?

  3. Sexual Healing

  4. God created Adam and EveIN HIS IMAGE AND LIKENESS! Since God is invisible, He has given us our bodies to help one another learn about Him.

  5. The body, in fact, and it alone is capable of making visible what is invisible : The spiritual and divine. “It was created to transfer into the visible reality of the world the mystery [of God]… and thus to be a sign of it.” -Pope John Paul II

  6. “Every man who knocks on the door of brothel …..is really seeking God.” -G.K. Chesterton, Catholic apologist.

  7. Key to find the love we’re looking for: …is hidden in God’s original design of our bodies and souls! Specifically inthe design of “males and females.”

  8. Males and Femalesare designed SO differently! Physically AND emotionally. Let’s look at some stereotypes: Guys vs. Girls Show you a statement- vote whether you think it applies better to girls or guys.

  9. They are taking so long to get ready!

  10. They are obsessed with sports.

  11. Why do they go to the bathroom in packs?

  12. They must be going tanning before prom.

  13. They love to play video games.

  14. They are so emotional!

  15. They think about sex all the time.

  16. Despite our differences, our bodies are holy and good! Jesus love on the cross & sexual love in God’s plan have SO MUCH IN COMMON!!!

  17. Sexual act (or the marital act) Is actually meant to be a foreshadowing of the union we will all experience in heaven. *Perfect union between God and mankind for all of eternity.*

  18. Check for Understanding! On a piece of paper, answer the following questions: • What is the Theology of the Body? • How does the Catholic Church view sexuality? • How are human beings designed? • How does the Catholic Church view people who may have already been (or currently are) sexually active? • This piece of paper is your ticket to leave!
