Ohio Diploma Options for College or Skilled Job Readiness

Ohio's new law provides students with multiple pathways to earn a diploma, ensuring they are ready for college or a skilled job upon graduation. With flexibility in course credits and state tests, students can choose from three graduation options. Get college-ready through high scores on state tests or national admission tests, or earn industry certification and work-readiness scores. Additional options include substituting tests with advanced placement courses or enrolling in college-level courses while in high school.   3. Ohio provides the most flexibility for you to succeed and graduate.

  7. Class of 2019 and Beyond: Take seven required state tests English I English II Algebra I or Int. Math I Geometry or Int. Math II Biology American History American Government

  8. All students must take all seven tests

  9. Each state test has two parts. Part One: Taken when you have finished two-thirds of the course This is taken in February or March

  10. Each state test has two parts. Part Two: Takenat the end of the course This is taken in April/May

  11. Tests are Combined for a Single Score Part 1 Part 2

  20. College Credit Plus Enroll in college while in high school Earn credits for both

  22. College Readiness Score Test is free for juniors Use the score for college admission

  24. Work Readiness and Industry Credential You leave high school with a skill Continue to build this skill
