  3. ReLIGION • The religion that India started with was Hinduism. Also Buddhism and Jains were very popular religions in India. But latter on they got Immigrants from other places and brought their religion with them.

  5. CUSTOMS HOLIDAYS • The fire festival: it is celebrated on the 15 day of the Light Half of the moon. In Hindu the month is Phalguna (march)it is a celebration of spring. • The Festival of Lights: this holiday is celebrated on the last day of Autumn on Oct. or Nov.It comes at the end of the monsoon rains, when the weather is nice and mild, and lasts for five days.

EDUCATION • Education is provided by the public and private sector. • India is having trouble by providing everyone a good education. • Only 15% of them get into high school and only 7% of them graduate. • 80% of the schools in India are private. • India has the oldest university in the world (Nalanda University).

  10. ART & MUSIC ART: • They made sculptures that show that the empire once ruled most of South Asia. • Most of the sculptures were made for religious buildings. MUSIC: • Most of the Indian music is clasical.

  11. TECHNOLOGY • India’s technology has improved in the passed years. It was not good in technology in the beginning • But, India is still in its DEVELOPING mode.

  12. RECREATION • India’s main sport is cricket • They got cricket from the British when they were ruled by them.
