Acton Expectations Treat others as you want to be treated!
My name is Mrs. Lillagore and this is my family. I am starting my 13th year at Acton Elementary and I LOVE it here!!! My husband, JJ is a firefighter. My oldest son, Benjamin is in 4th grade at AES in Mrs. Roe’s class and William is in Kindergarten with Mrs. Brackin. I love to read, work on computers, exercise, go to the beach, and hang out with my family and friends.
Let’s Talk About Art • You come to art once a week for 50 minutes. • Time is short, so we MUST stay on task. • K and 1 come in and sit in the story area each week to share our story and have our lesson. You will be dismissed by table to begin your project. • 2nd,3rd, 4th, and 5th go directly to your assigned seat so learning may begin. • Learning objectives for the week will be posted on the board. • After our story or introduction, we will have studio time to complete our projects. Some projects will be completed in the 50 minutes we are in class. Some will take several class periods. • Each child will keep a portfolio in art. This means you will not take home a project every week when you come to my room. However, at the end of the year, you will bring home a compilation of work that will show how much you’ve grown as an artist.
Show Respect to Others • We treat each other equally and fairly. • We use our manners. • We help each other and work together • We will keep our hands and feet to ourselves. • We will build people up rather than put them down. Treat others as you want to be treated!
Show Respect to School Property • Handle all supplies correctly. • Treat our school with kindness. Treat others as you want to be treated!
Talks at Appropriate Times • Raise your hand when asking a question during discussion time. • Don’t interrupt your friends. Treat others as you want to be treated!
Stays Seated Appropriately • Remain in your spot during direct instruction. • Go to your assigned spot each class period. • Do not leave the class with out permission. Treat others as you want to be treated!
Follow Directions • Listen to the teacher, not your friends. • Do what is asked. Treat others as you want to be treated!
Uses Appropriate Language • Use kind words only. Treat others as you want to be treated!
Pays Attention in Class • Body quiet • Eyes on speaker • Sitting quietly • Talking stopped Treat others as you want to be treated!
Stays on Task Works Independently • Do your own work. • Do not disturb your neighbor. • Stay seated and busy. • Ask the teacher questions about your projects if you are unsure about what to do. Treat others as you want to be treated!
Completes and Returns Work on Time • Work hard to make sure your project is done by the assigned date. • Move on to next project or assignment. • Do not sit around and distract your neighbors, please! Treat others as you want to be treated!
Consequences(What happens if I don’t follow the rules?) • Verbal Warning • Mark in Gradebook, Moved to a New Group, and/or Time Out • Personal Parent Contact • After School Dention Hall • Parent Conference and After School Detention Hall • Office Referral • Serious Offenses will result in office referral and phone call to guardian. Treat others as you want to be treated!
After getting our seating assignments and reviewing the rules and procedures of the art room, we either read I’m the Best Artist in the Ocean by Kevin Sherry or Bridget’s Beret by Tom Lichtenheld. Then, we got to draw a picture of our favorite thing we did this summer and take it home with us.
