  4. 1. ANALOG WATCHES The good old mechanical watches

  5. MECHANICAL WATCHES • Oldest construct among watches. • Does not run on electronics and batteries! • Powered by a mainspring. • Need to be manually wound periodically.

  6. AUTOMATIC WATCHES • “Improved version” of mechanical watches. • Automatically winds the mainspring. • Uses weighted gears to use the wearer’s movements to wind the spring.

  7. QUARTZ WATCHES • Uses a quartz crystal to keep time. • When electricity is passed through quartz, it vibrates at constant pace. • Vibration is used to drive the watch accurately. • Battery needs to be changed periodically.

  8. 2. DIGITAL WATCHES “Electronics only” watches

  9. LED WATCHES • LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. • Simply put, a small super bright lightbulb. • Cool & futuristic looking.

  10. SMART WATCHES • Who does not know smart watches? • The smaller brother of smart phones. • Not capable enough to be used like a “full sized” digital office yet.

  11. 3. SPECIALTY WATCHES A different watch for everyone

  12. HYBRID WATCHES • Analog and digital. Hybrid watches are both. • If you can’t choose between analog or digital, get these. The best of both worlds.

  13. DIVER WATCHES • Specially made for divers. • Is waterproof. • Able to withstand underwater pressure as well.

  14. SPORTS WATCHES • Made for the active people • Partially waterproof, shock proof. • Some even has built-in heart rate monitor.

  15. AVIATOR WATCHES • If there are watches made for divers, there are also watches made for pilots. • These watches are made to work even in low pressure at high altitudes.

  16. LUXURY WATCHES • Usually expensive watches that are distinctive. • Made with fine materials such as silver, gold, and even gemstones.

  17. DRESS WATCHES • Simple and elegant. • Specially made for people who wants to look stylish without being too flashy.

  18. MILITARY WATCHES • Rugged watches made for military people. • Waterproof, dustproof, and shock proof for the demanding environment. • Usually dark and dull colors.
