  3. Examples of nouns and adjectives Adjectives roja (feminine, singular) rubias (feminine, plural) guapo (masculine, singular) negros (masculine, plural) Nouns La regla (feminine, singular) Las chicas (feminine, plural) El chico (masculine, singular) Los libros (masculine, plural)

  4. If a noun or adjective ends in –a, it is usually feminine and singular la reglaroja Noun, feminine & singular Adjective, feminine & singular

  5. If a noun or adjective ends in –as, it is usually feminine and plural laschicasrubias Noun, feminine & plural Adjective, feminine & plural

  6. If a noun or adjective ends in –o, it is usually masculine and singular El muchachoguapo Noun, masculine & singular Adjective, masculine & singular

  7. If a noun or adjective ends in –os, it is usually masculine and plural Los librosnegros Noun, masculine & plural Adjective, masculine & plural

  8. Some nouns do NOT end in –o or –aso you have to know if they are masculine or feminine. Reloj – masculine, el reloj, los relojes Pupitre – masculine, el pupitre, los pupitres Mujer – feminine, la mujer, las mujeres

  9. Some nouns are exceptionsto the rule día – masculine, el día, los días mapa – masculine, el mapa, los mapas

  10. Some adjectives end in avowel or consonant, so you only change the number by adding –s or -es azul, azules (for both masculine & feminine) inteligente, inteligentes (for both masculine & feminine)
