  2. Illegal wildlife trade is gaining growth on the internet, as evidenced by the number of websites with ads. • The purpose of this survey is to measure the scale of the trade.

  3. Methodology • This methodology has been developed based on the learning’s of past IFAW investigations. • This survey will focus on Appendix I priority species and elephants. • The survey itself will take place over a period of six weeks with snap shots taking place weekly.

  7. Number of ads – 976 • Total items for sale - 1042 • Overall costs – 14285941 hrn. (952346 Euro) • Sellers – 428 (359 – single, 69 – multiple) • Number of ads claim to legality – 456 • Total number of ads with supporting documents - 32

  8. Huge amount of live animals • Lots of cats and primates (like orangutan) • Some animals extreme rare (eg., bridled nail-tail wallaby)
