  2. The Synopsis:Danny, the Champion of the World is a 1975 children book by Roald Dahl. The main plot centers on a young English boy, Danny, and his dad, William, who live in an old gypsy caravan and own a filing-station. When Danny discovers that his dad goes poaching pheasants in Hazell Wood, a big piece of land belonging to a nasty landowner, he comes up with a brilliant idea to poach all of Mr Hazell’s pheasants in one go! Here are 5 scenes that the students chose to illustrate the story, enjoy! Scene 1: DREAM COUNTRY  In this scene, we discover the characters of Danny and Dad, how They both love the story of the BFG, the Big Friendly Giant and we sense that dad is up to something, but what? Scene 2: WHAT’S THE BIG SECRET?  We witness here Danny and Dad’s happy life as they are serving their customers, but Danny is intrigued by the strange questions the villagers ask his dad…. The happy atmosphere then turns into an unpleasant one as we are introduced to a new character: Mr Victor Hazell. Scene 3: DANNY TO THE RESCUE  When he discovers that his dad is not back from his poaching expedition in Hazell Wood, Danny decides to go rescue him with Sergeant Samways’ pride and joy, the baby Austin. Scene 4: HAZELL COMES TO SCHOOL  This scene is played in two parts, a first part takes place at Danny’s school when there is a confrontation between Danny and Mr Hazell and the second part at the filing station when Dad is served with an eviction order by Mr Hazel who wants his revenge and also Danny and Dad’s land. Scene 5: HACCUSATIONS  This final scene is the resolution of the story, with every one present and where everything gets settled, not without a great deal of agitation and fun! *Poaching: To illegally hunt birds, animals or fish on somebody else’s property or without permission.
