  1. Exercise 11-1 1 • From the Design tab, in the Themes group, the Colors button displays four colors of the current theme. • All theme colors are listed alphabetically. • You can actually change 12 different theme colors: four text and background, six accent, and two hyperlink colors. Notice how the colors change on slide objects as you change the color theme. Figure 11-1

Exercise 11-3 1 • Theme fonts in PowerPoint control the heading font and the body text font. • For many of the themes, the same font is used in both places; however, some themes use two fonts. • From the Design tab, in theThemes group, click the Theme Fonts button. • At the bottom of the gallery, choose Create New Theme Fonts.   6. Exercise 11-4 1 • From the Design tab, in the Themes group, click the More button. Click Save Current Theme. • Key a file name. • The Save as type should remain Office Theme to ensure that this new theme will be available to use across Microsoft Office applications. • Click Save. Figure 11-6

Exercise 11-10 3 • On the first Slide Master layout, select the bulleted list placeholder, and click within the first-level bulleted text. • From the Home tab in the Paragraph group, click the down arrow on the Bullets button. • Click Bullets and Numbering. • From the Bullets and Numbering dialog box, click Picture. • From the Picture Bullet dialog box, select the bullet you want. • Click OK.

Exercise 11-11 3 • To add interest to your theme and help to establish your presentation’s meaning, insert a picture or illustration on the Slide Master Title Slide layout. • Repeat the same image in a smaller size on the Slide Master layout for all the slides in the presentation. Exercise 11-12 3 • On the first Slide Master layout, select the footer placeholders for the date and footer text. • From the Home tab, in the Font group, change the font size, color, and alignment as necessary. • On the Slide Master layout, adjust the position of the date and footer text if necessary. • On the Slide Master tab, click the Close Master View button. • From the Insert tab, in the Text group, add a slide header with the date and footer text. • Click Apply to All.

  19. Exercise 11-13 3 After a new theme is complete and background elements have changed, the positioning of objects already used in the presentation may need adjusting. To save a customized theme: • From the Design tab, in the Themes group, click the More button, and choose Save Current Theme. • Name the theme. • It will be saved in the Document Themes directory and will show in the Custom category of the Themes gallery. • Click Save.

Exercise 11-14 3 • Click the File tab, choose Save As, and then Other Formats to open the Save As dialog box. • In the Save as type drop-down list, choose PowerPoint Template. • The Templates folder on the computer you are using will be selected as the destination, but you can choose another location if you wish. • In the File name box, key the file name. • Click OK. • The file name will have the extension of .potx.

Search Microsoft’s Office.com Exercise 11-15 4 To search for themes and templates when beginning a presentation: • From the File tab, choose New. • From the Available Templates and Themes area, you can search from Office.com by keyword or choose from categories of Office.com templates. • In the Presentations folder, templates are organized by categories and include suggested content. • In the More Categories folder, several categories are listed as well as an Office Themes folder. • Once you have located something you would like to download, select it and then choose Download.

  26. Lesson 11 Presentation Themes help to communicate the message of your presentation. Your audience will appreciate a fresh, new design that they have not seen many times before. Add information to handout masters as needed and keep their design professional.
