  2. Introduction Hello, my name is Gagan and I will be telling you about the red blood cells journey starting from the bone marrow.

  3. How they start The red blood cells are born in bone marrow , joins the bloodstream, and then heads to the heart in via veins. while it’s in the heart it would hear whump of the valves closing and opening. From their the red blood cells go through the right atrium where the right atrium contracts and pushes them into the right ventricle through the mitral valve. Red blood cells

  4. How they travel They then go into the pulmonary valve into the pulmonary artery to the lungs to pick up oxygen. From there they come back to the heart and are pumped into the aorta. While they are in the aorta the blood cells get split up in the arteries which take them to all different locations in the body.

  5. What do they do When they get to all these different location, the arteries become smaller and smaller and turn into capillaries. Then they give their oxygen to all the organs in the body.

  6. How they end their journey The red blood cells then head toward the heart in the capillaries which turn larger and larger and become arteries. From there they past through the liver and spleen. The liver and spleen get rid of all the blood cells that don’t work anymore. Then they get to the heart and do the it all over again. The heart The end

  7. Facts about red blood cells Red blood cells are made in the marrow. Red blood cells perform the most important blood duty. A single drop of blood contains millions of red blood cells which are constantly traveling through your body delivering oxygen. Red blood cells are red only because they contain a protein chemical called hemoglobin which is bright red in color. Hemoglobin contains the element Iron, making it an excellent vehicle for transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide. In one day blood travels a total of 12,000 miles. A person has a about six quarts of blood.
