  2. What Credential Are You Applying For? You are earning a Multiple Subject 2042 Preliminary Credential This credential has the English Learner (EL) Authorization embedded in it so you don’t need to add anything to meet that criteria. This credential is good for five years.
  3. Before You Apply You will receive a Pre-Evaluation Report identifying the documents needed and requirements left to meet at the beginning of student teaching. This is like a Grad Check. It is your job to read your report, ask any questions and make sure your file is ready before you apply.
  4. When to Apply You can apply as you start your last quarter in the program BUT the recommendation will not be made until your grades have posted from your final quarter. It takes 2 to 4 weeks after grades have posted for the recommendation to be made. You can also apply any time during or after your last quarter when you have met all the requirements.
  5. Requirements for a 2042 Multiple Subject Preliminary Credential Transcripts (admission requirement) CBEST and CSET scores (admission requirement) TPAs (passing grades in Assessment Seminars) RICA scores (must bring in passing scores) CPR – Adult, child, infant CPR current card US Constitution (on transcript for CSUSB but others may need to check on this) Passing all credential coursework with a B- or better.
  6. How To Apply You’ll find everything you need at the following website http://coe.csusb.edu/offices/credential_processing.htm You have three options – on-line, in person or by mail. You need a credit card and your CSUSB email address There is a $25 fee for the credential recommendation from CSUSB and a credential application fee payable to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). You will be prompted to pay the CTC fee by an email to your CSUSB email address. Any questions, call Credential Processing at 909-537-5609
