Timeline of the 1:1 program (part 1 of 2) August 2005 – informal discussion of 1:1 November 2005 – Buena Vista 1:1 Conf January 2006 - Discussion item with school board February 2006 – Gateway 1:1 Conf March 2006 – Board approved Classroom Connections application pursuit April 2006 – Community and Staff forums April 2006 – Application submitted May 2006 – HCHS awarded

  4. Timeline of the 1:1 program (part 2 of 2) June 2006 – Tablet PC computers arrive at HCHS July 2006 – Teacher training August 2006 – Teacher training Last week of August 2006 – Student Deployment September 5, 2006 – School Starts

  5. Tablets versus Laptop Computers • We felt tablet computers were a much more intuitive tool for our students • The cost difference was justifiable

  6. District Budget Impact • $108,000 from capital outlay for three years • Lease vs. buy • $36,000 back from the state • We have built the laptop program in to five year • capital outlay plan
