Teacher Seminar conducted on 25-26 September 2013 at Lockheed Martin (NCS/NDIA). 50 educators attended Participated in Lou Frey Institute M&S Symposium on 30 September 2012. 450 students attended Working closely with Orlando Tech in I/ITSEC booth, Convention Center and M&S curriculum HS M&S Certification got boost from NAWCTSD-Lyn Higgins , Lyman HS, developing exam questions Committee Actions and Events

Committee Actions and Events (Continued) • Participated in STEM Alliance initiative, led by Orlando Science Center. • Participating in M&S Center of Excellence at Orange County Convention Center to include M&S Hall of Fame • Supported University HS in Robotics Program and curriculum. Provided Hagerty HS support • High School M&S framework being worked by SCPS. To be submitted to Florida DoEd. • Toured Full Sail University

Career and Professional Development (CAPE) Act • Improve middle and high school academic performance-rigorous/relevant curriculum • Courses articulate to post-secondary-level, leading to industry certification • Support local/regional economic development • Respond to Florida’s critical workforce needs • Provide state residents with access to high- wage/high-demand careers • Coordinate with Workforce Florida and DoEd

  10. Actions Required for Establishing HS M&S Certification Program • Set up a Certification Subcommittee to develop policy, procedures and processes for putting program in place • Identify milestones and costs for implementing • Develop examination question data base • Establish methods and means for examination security • Modify NCS website to include Certification Program • Advertise the program
