  3. Rexel provides electrical solutions throughout the world Global sales of c.€12bn Largest distribution network in the world 2,200 sales outlets across the globe Leading product brands Service developments continue

  4. Within the UK & Ireland, the business operates through a number of trading brands

  5. Our starting point is a highly fragmented set of systems with Movex v11 RPG at the heart of the solution

  6. In common with a considerable proportion of the Lawson Movex customer base, we were looking for a sensible upgrade approach Movex v11 RPG High level of modification Unable to modify (sensibly) Consultant support becoming narrow Limited access to later capabilities But..... had more than 50% of our user base who were familiar with it

  7. Our interest in M3 goes far beyond the core software – access to the ancillary tools and creating a whole new approach was central to our thinking Learning Accelerator Process Flow Integrator Process Instructions Configuration Details Enterprise Search SmartOffice Core Processes SalesLogisticsPlanningFinanceServices

  8. Taking advantage of the cloud infrastructure with a Quickstep foundation, a prototype environment was created which would allow the users to understand what 10 years of development had meant!! Final Prototype Refine the Solution Build 1st Prototype Dec 2010 Oct 2010 May 2010 Establish Customer Requirements

  9. An extensive validation period identified more than 300 gaps to the desired solution • 300 gaps identified • 140 closed by end of prototype • Configuration • Understanding • Remaining Gaps • Configuration 27 • M3 tools 25 • Modification 28 • 3rd party 46 • BUGS!! 10 • Others 14

  10. Exploitation of the tools layer will reduce dependency on modifications – a key goal of the new solution PFI SmartOffice MashUp Enterprise Search M3 tools layer M3 core solution

  11. Technically we have a full definition of what needs to be created – the next challenge is to fully generate this PROTOT YPE • Installation • Initial • Prototype transfer • Build • By gap type • By process area Provides basis for..... • Interfaces • Permanent • Cutover (incl. Data Migration) • Learning/Training • Needs Analysis • Deliver • Security • Role definition • Creation Management/Architect

  12. The M3 system environment will sit at the core of the UK system portfolio integrated with other best-in-class solutions* * Systems illustrated are key ancillary systems, but are not exhaustive

  13. Our desire to minimise modification to the core M3 package will see the introduction of 3 “edge systems” Product & Price Management System

  14. The picture is now complete

  15. So, our expectations are high, and we have to believe that we will deliver a result that is consistent with our precedent!! “"10" was amazing! I had no career before "10" and then all of a sudden I was able to do pretty much whatever I was able to do in the business.” Bo Derek, 10, 1979
