  1. SOLAR PANELS Solar panels are a great and sustainable way to reduce your electricity bills by 50% and up to 50% on your hot water. Imagine making these savings and also making your home a renewable energy heaven. Believe it or not, heat pumps in Ireland work more or less the same way as a fridge, but in reverse! An air to water heat pump simply extracts the heat that's present in outdoor air and delivers it inside your home to keep you warm and comfortable. The end result is a longer compressor life and lowers energy consumption. Using solar to power for your home might just turn out to be one of the best decisions you have ever made. Solar PV gives you an extended list of benefits that are tough to match, both in quality and in quantity. With the appropriate solar panel setup, you can look forward to enjoying advantages like a stream of hot water and a reduction in your electricity bill of 50%. You can have all these daily-life benefits whilst knowing that you are doing your part in saving the environment. The biggest driving force behind the development of solar powered solutions has always been the unanimous aim of protecting the environment. Producing electricity is quite taxing. Most of the electricity we use today is

  2. produced by burning fossil fuels which releases high amounts of carbon and waste gases into the atmosphere, and with the usage of electricity being at an all-time high, the amount of carbon that is being released is genuinely scary. Pollution caused by producing electricity is a prominent contributor to global warming and many other accompanying ailments. Solar panels are a great alternative to helps us reduce the use of fossil fuels. Now, granted the production of solar panels releases huge amounts of carbon. But we need to look at the bigger picture. Over a ten-year period (the typical lifetime of a solar panel is 30 years and beyond) an average solar panel can offset its initial manufacturing tax on the environment and begin to operate at a carbon deficit. To make an effort and try to help the planet, having solar panels installed in your home is your best option. John got in contact with us back in 2019 as he wanted to see are solar panels worth it for him. His main interest was saving electricity and reducing his bill which where coming in at €200 bi monthly. John is living in a 1989 3 bed, detached dormer bungalow. his roof is tiled and is east/west facing which is still a good orientation for solar panels. After having solar panels installed in his home his BER rating was a B2. As his BER rating was within the grant territory, This meant that John qualified for the €3,000 SEAI grant available able for solar panel and battery installation, NRG Panel waited on the grant so John didn’t to, once we knew that he was grant eligible we deducted the grant amount from his balance which reduced the overall initial payment John needed to get his solar installed.

  3. After our consultation, our energy expert designed a bespoke system for John. They decided that the best option based on the monthly electricity usage, lifestyle, roof space and orientation would be a 16 panel system split over east and west facing roof with the inverter and 7.2kw battery were installed in attic. John was using a combi boiler gas cylinder to heat his water and wanted to reduce his dependency on this, so we added on an Eddi diverter, this was installed in the hot press. The installation team arrived on a crisp September morning and were finished up by just after lunch. Our aim was to save this customer up to 50% on his bills and to also provide him with some hot water, all the while reducing his carbon footprint and increasing his BER rating.

  4. We caught up with John since the solar panel installation and he said he is very happy with the entire install, and he was more than happy to partake in our case studies as he wanted the opportunity to help others make an informed decision. He is even considering an air to water heat pump to make his home even more energy efficient. Having solar PV installed is a great investment and NRG Panel are the market leaders but don’t take our word –Here’s what John had to say just after the panels were installed. “I recently received an install of PV Solar Panels I would like to thank NRG for supply and fit by the “A Team” They really did an excellent job, it is neatly tucked away in the attic no mess. You wouldn’t even know they were here, they explained everything really well and as my Grandad always said “Good tradesmen always clean up after themselves”. So, Thanks again to the A Team and NRG Pane, super job well done all”
