  1. Holistic Therapy

  2. Holistic therapyis a common term for any treatment that is intended to treat the individual as a whole (body, mind and spirit). There is a growing trend toward replacing and supplementing traditional medical care with other methods of healing that are non-invasive and address not only physical aspects and symptoms. Holistic healing is an ongoing journey of discovery in search of more answers and ultimately better, healthier lives.

  3. What primarily distinguishes holistic healing from alternative medicine, complementary medicine, and integrative medicine is that physical health is not necessarily the main focus. Even so, it is often the experience of physical discomfort that will first prompt a person's pursuit of holistic healing.

  4. Holistic healing addresses all parts of the individual, not just the physical aspect of a person where manifested illnesses are most apparent. Holistic therapies are approaches to healing that strive to balance the emotional, mental, physical, social and spiritual aspects of patients.

  5. Holistic methods complement each other (e.g. homeopathy works well with bio-resonance and acupuncture, acupuncture works well with biofeedback; radionics complements psychotherapy and so on).

  6. Holistic methods recognize interconnectedness of all working elements. This is in contrast to allopathic medicine which targets separate body areas and promotes the use of pharmaceuticals as a first resort.

  7. Holistic Therapies have been around for thousands of years. The Chinese have known about the energy flowing through the meridians for over 4,000 years and developed acupuncture to tap into and unblock the energy flows.

  8. Chinese Medicine uses acupuncture and herbal remedies while from the Indian sub-continent we have Ayurveda - 'the Science of Life' - a system that has been around for 5,000 years. The North American Indians practised herbal and energetic medicine as did many of the shamans in Africa, and South America and all over the world.
