W Mitosis is a process where a single cell divides into two identical cells (cell division). The major purpose of mitosis is for growth and to replace worn out cells. Mitosis is generally followed by equal division of the cell's content into two daugther cells that have identical genome. Mitosis a process of cell duplication ,or reproducation, during which one cell gives rise to two genetically identical daugther cells .
