  1. 5 Trends That Will Change How You See the Retail Industry Year on year, the big changes in retail have focused more on creating infrastructure and reducing prices. 2015 will be different as shopping no longer is a mechanical thing. Consumers are looking for experiences out of their shopping expeditions. Here are the five key trends that will make retail more experiential in 2015. 1. Personalization - Loyalty of the consumer depends on how well a particular brand understands his needs. Retailers will have to work with their retail marketing agenciesin tandem to create customizing the shopping experience for every customer rather than go for a vanilla strategy. 2. Technology - More and more retailers will use technology more aggressively rather than a backend process enabler. Smart retailers will use technology even more by including their retail branding agencies in the mix, to create branding opportunities that not only inform but engage too. 3. Smartphones - The new age consumer is mobile; they use their smartphones to research, compare, transact and review. The retail marketing agencies of the retailers will have to come up with apps, customized coupons, newsletters and other innovative ideas that keep the consumer interested in the brand. 4. Social Networks - Just hiring a retail branding agency to keep the conversations going on social, won’t work in 2015. Social Networks are not only growing but evolving too. Networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram already have become more shopping friendly with their innovations. Selling via social networks can be the trump card to beat competition in 2015. 5. CSR - Consumers today are more sensitive than ever. They want to know if the money spent by them is going to make a difference to the society. For a retailer to succeed it is very important to have a good CSR strategy in place that a consumer can feel good about.
