  4. There Must Be Self-Control: • Strong Drink – “Temperance” • Proverbs 20:1 Not wise to be led astray by it • Romans 13:13 “walk properly” “not.. In drunkenness” • Daniel 1:8 “not defile himself” • Covetousness – • Ephesians 5:3 “not even be named among you, as it fitting for saints.” • Acts 20:33

  5. There Must Be Self-Control: • In Marriage – 1 Corinthians 7:5 5 Do not deprive one another,… come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.” • Before Marriage – 1 Corinthians 7:8,9 “…if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry.”

  6. “The Fruit of the Spirit” • Galatians 5:22-24 “..fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, …23 gentleness, self-control.   8. Ways it is Practiced: • Temptation – • 1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common…; but God is faithful,… not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,.. with the temptation.. Make.. way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
