Slide 3:FrontPage 2000 has combined the interfaces of Explorer and Editor. When you initially load the program the first screen you see is the combined screen. Remember in 98 the Normal and HTML tabs. 2000 has added Preview. Instead of having to go into Netscape to preview your work, you can click on Preview and it will act just as if you were viewing it the browser. View bars between 98 and 2000 have changed slightly. Gone is All Files, Hyperlink Status, and Themes - added is Page and Report. We wont talk about Report in this session but we will discuss Page. A quick run down of FrontPages view bar: Page - you can open an already created page from your folder list and edit it Folder - gives a list of folders associated with your web directory Report - gives a site summary, what kind of links, are they broken, how many files and folders are associated with the directory. General information that summarizes the content of your directory and pages. Navigator - directory root tree Hyperlinks - gives a graphic view of the hyperlink paths to and from your pages Tasks - If youre working with other people on the web page - a record of assignments can be created to show who does what, when its needed, etc.FrontPage 2000 has combined the interfaces of Explorer and Editor. Slide 7:- return to your desk top Click on Network Neighborhood. As you can see Front Page gives you a short cut directly to your web directory. For easy access make it into a shortcut and place it on your desktop. If you use another web composer, (ie Dreamweaver, Netscape Composer etc.) and really dont want to use Front Page to edit or compose your page it is suggested that you move the file you want to edit out of your web directory, place it in a special directory created by you so you can always find it, edit it then move it back into the Front Page web directory. If you do follow those steps you should load Front Page, then load the file and it will become Front Page compatible correcting broken links, etc. Now, when I created this slide I double clicked on a file, it loaded in but it asked me for my name and password. When that happens use your domain name and password. Remember, case sensitive on the password - return to your desk top Click on Network Neighborhood.
