CGA DIRT Tool Sunshine State One Call of Florida • Common Ground Alliance (CGA) The Common Ground Alliance (CGA)is a member-driven association dedicated to ensuring public safety, environmental protection, and the integrity of services by promoting effective damage prevention practices.    In recent years, the association has established itself as the leading organization in an effort to reduce damages to all underground facilities in North America through shared responsibility among all stakeholders.

The DIRT tool is an online reporting system that has been established to help identify: • Location of damages • Frequency of damages • Root cause of damages The goal of DIRT is to reduce damages to underground facilities and their associated costs, reduce the number of personal injuries and deaths, and prevent vital service outages.

  20. CGA DIRT Tool Sunshine State One Call of Florida • What is the data used for? • The data is scrubbed to remove specific information about the companies involved. It is then released in a report that is shared via the web. • Those that submit data get their information back so that it can be compared to national and regional data.

CGA DIRT Tool Sunshine State One Call of Florida • How can it help us in Florida? • By submitting data to DIRT and granting access to SSOCOF, we can focus our resources on specific geographic areas and target marketing to groups that are identified as needing education. • This also allows SSOCOF to measure the effectiveness of marketing programs, liaison activity and enforcement.

Answer “yes” or “no” to the question, “Are you a reporting organization?” By answering “no,” your name will not be added to the pull down list and you will not be able to access other organizations information. By answering "yes," your company name will be added to the pull down list and others will be able to share their data with you. The information is accessible only through the reporting function and no company specific information is included. You will simply retrieve all data from other reporting organizations that have granted you access.
