  1. Any kind of surgery in itself seems to be a difficult job; and then, the care to be taken after the procedure is intense and long. Same is the case with cataract surgery. While your cataract surgeon will let you know all the precautions and care that you must take after the surgery, we are also here to help you with some general care tips. But, before we get into the care tips, let us understand what we are going to experience after the surgery. Redness of the eyes, tenderness, light sensitivity, and tearing are common symptoms that follow a cataract surgery. Your doctor will prescribe you medications for all these conditions beforehand. Other symptoms may include mucus and crusting on the eyelids. To have your eyes get rid of these, you will need a clean washcloth and warm water. At any cost, you can let any kinds of soap or chemicals get into your eyes yet. After the cataract surgery, it is normal for the vision to get blurred, foggy, and hazy for a few hours, or maybe up till the next day. Other than these symptoms, if you experience anything else, you may call your doctor immediately! Now, let us see the most common after care tips that doctors ask cataract surgery patients to follow. Eye drops – Your doctor will give you eye drops to be put into your eyes. The schedule of your eye drops will be given based on your eye condition; there is no strict schedule that every cataract patient is to follow. Slowly and gradually, the amount of drops you are required to put is lessened, which is completely stopped by the 4th or 5th week following surgery. Sunglasses – A cataract specialist hospital that executes a cataract surgery on your eyes will generally provide you with a special pair of sunglasses that you need to wear throughout the

  2. day to keep your eyes protected, not only against the sunlight, but also against dust, smoke, and other environmental elements. Your doctor will let you know up till when you should be wearing these glasses. Driving – While cataract surgery won't keep you from driving for long, but you must avoid any kind of driving for at least 48 hours after the surgery. This is because during the surgery, you will be given some sedation that can make you feel dizzy, which is risky during driving. The next day after the surgery you are free to drive, but we recommend not to, just in case you still feel groggy from the anesthesia. Other activities –Along with the above Do’s, there are also certain Don’ts that you must follow after a cataract surgery. You MUST NOT rub your eyes, nor wear any kind of makeup. Also, you must not swim or go near any kind of risky environments. You mustn’t also lift anything heavy that would make you hold your breath while doing so. Avoid all of these up till your eyes seem to be normal. If you are looking to have a cataract surgery in Oshiwara Mumbai, Arohi Eye Hospital is the best place you can be to have the best quality five minute high tech procedure to remove the cloud like opacity from the eyes forever.
