  1. Summer weddings with Paithani

  2. The sun is hitting the sky, and summers are approaching sooner, but the weddings aren’t going anywhere. The celebration continues irrespectively with the weather and so should be the laughter and comfort. Summer weddings are a task at hand and as one needs to take care of the heat and keep it aside for the ceremonies as well as the clothing. Be it summer or winter, everyone has the desire to look stylish and different and try their best to achieve the look that makes them stand apart from the crowd. Now that banarasi and heavy embroidery lehengas or dresses have been repetitive, other textile crafts are taking up the platform and are ready to be experimented with and ruled upon.

  3. Paithani, from being a once upon a time has become timeless and its luster has become an apt representation of pomp and mood of the festivities of occasion wear. Paithani is now not limited to a saree or dupatta as a product. Thankfully, with the designers intervening, the craft is getting a new edge and the product range in Paithani is varying. Paithani lehengas have become the fresh fashion statement of the wedding season and are being loved by women. Be it the bride wearing a Paithani lehenga for her mehndi or sangeet, or her sister, mother, and sister-in-law wearing on the wedding, Paithani has not failed to spread its charm and capture the eyes of the beholder with its subtle shine.

  4. The beautiful motifs of Paithani can be patched with other crafts or appliqued on some light fabrics like linen silk, organza, or tulle and cotton to serve the purpose. Organza is the key here. Paithani is appliqued on the organza base and thus there is no weight in the lehenga and can be easily worn and twirled in a summer wedding. The delicateness of the organza gives the Paithani a cool summer breezy feel. The iconic muniya border can be patched with bandhani or Kota Doria with delicate embroideries. Paithani in itself is abundance. It can be recycled and reused in various ways and all in favor of the one who owns it. The saree can be converted into a lehenga. The motifs can be cut and smartly placed on blouses or dupatta. There are numerous ways your old Paithani saree can be reused and still never get old.

  5. Colors play an important role in deciding the look. Pastels have always worked for summers, though a slight shift towards strong yellows and greens won’t mind the feel. Lime yellows and bush greens work well for summers and when paired with Paithani applique of similar colors and a Paithani dupatta or a tissue organza dupatta with embroidered borders cannot be beaten. AshaGautam constantly endeavors to bring a new edge to the craft to serve their customers with newness and a larger-than-life feel. Playing with silhouettes of the blouses and pairing of dupatta appliqued with Paithani or having an organza lehenga with Paithani motifs with the freshness of colors and an eye for detailing has made AshaGautam the pioneers in exploring the possibilities of Paithani.
