BSIT Program information & application • Contact Program Coordinator: Dave Batts • Examine technical content to assure preparation for the upper division technical courses • Examine general education courses to assure college transfer • Students apply when they complete their AAS degree and completed 24 hours of general education transfer courses (NCCCS and UNCS agreement) • Must have a 2.5 GPA in these courses • In general, can apply up to 26 hours general education from another institution
BSIT Program information & application • Students with an AAS can enter as a junior with: • 37 technical block credit for your lower technical content (given to the student after they are admitted) • 26 hours of general education hours • 63 transferable hours towards the 126 for the entire degree • Of the remaining 63 hours • 42 upper technical hours (must be taken at ECU, offered online) • 21 of remaining general education courses or cognates can be taken at ECU or any other four year institution
ECU Admissions • Students apply when they complete their AAS degree and completed 24 hours of general education transfer courses (NCCCS and UNCS agreement) • Must have a 2.5 GPA in these courses • In general, can apply up to 26 hours general education
General Education Requirements • English = 6 hours • Math = 3 hours • Science = 8 hours (must have one lab credit) • Social Science = 12 hours • Four classes must come from three disciplines • Humanities and Fine Arts = 10 hours • Health and PE = 3 hours • Cognates = 5 hours (trig and business law)
